The Document Designer Professional tool enables rapid development of mobile XML forms and document applications without requiring the developer to know how to formally program in XML.

The Document Designer simplifies the process of developing mobile applications by reducing the complexity of the mobile application data entry screens and also provides an quick preview of the generated documentation within a streamlined application builder interface.

Mobile applications are created by defining Elements containing a list of Headings and Field values which are displayed for selection on the Document Assistant wireless client. As well as a range of values the field type can be set to record any entered data such as text, numerical data or a mixture. Elements are then associated together which creates fully structured and XML compatible documentation.

Optionally, documentation formatting and grammar settings can be applied to each Element using a visual preview panel which shows all the possible variations for generated documentation.

Elements can be combined together to contain other elements which enables sophisticated document applications to be built whilst making the application design simple to manage.

Created document applications are fully XML compatible and use XML Schema to define the XML document applications. The developer tool also produces a compressed document application PDB file which is deployed onto the wireless client using “Over The Air” deployment or can be placed manually onto the client.

The recorded documentation is sent as XML data xml which is then turned into document XML and then into html or Microsoft compatible RTF documentation. More sophisticated documentation or forms can be created using Freemarker documentation page scripting which works with both XML data and documentation. Alternatively the XML data can be accessed directly and merged with XSLT and SQL configuration files for database integration.
